Better Than Socks ("we", "us") helps you find a genuinely good gift without wading through thousands of products. You can get gift recommendations without creating an account. If you choose to sign in, you can also save the people you buy for, their birthdays, favourites and reminders. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We collect only the information needed to provide the service:

• Account information: your email address and password (stored securely), used to sign you in.
• Saved people: names, birthdays, interests, personality, preferences, notes and photos you add for the people you buy gifts for.
• Gift records: gift ideas, favourites, previous gifts and links you save.
• Finder answers: the anonymous answers you give the gift finder (age, interests, budget) are used only to generate your recommendations and are not tied to you unless you sign in and save them.
• Reminder preferences: the reminder channels and lead time you choose.

You do not need to register to receive gift recommendations. The gift finder works anonymously. We only ask you to create an account when you want to save people, birthdays, favourites or previous gifts.

We use your information to show recommendations from our curated gift edit, generate personalised matches, remember the people you save, send birthday reminders through the channels you selected, and improve the edit. We do not sell your information.

Some product links are Amazon affiliate links. When you click through and purchase, Better Than Socks may earn a commission at no cost to you. We only link to products in our curated edit; we do not let automated systems add products to the catalogue.

Each email login is a separate, private account. The people, gifts, reminders and preferences you create are tied to your account and are not visible to other users.

Better Than Socks is an adult-facing gift service. Children do not create accounts and do not use the app directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any details you enter about a child (for example, a name and birthday) are saved privately to your account for your own use, and you are responsible for having the right to provide them.

We share data only with service providers that help run the app (for example, email delivery and the AI matching provider), and only as needed to perform those functions. These providers are bound by obligations to keep data confidential.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual people, gifts or favourites at any time, or delete your entire account from Settings, which removes your associated data.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including per-account isolation and secure authentication. No method of storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your information.

You can access, correct, or delete your data at any time through the app. If you have questions about your data, contact Base44 support.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will reflect the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
